Hi, it´s Hungry Swedes here and we´d like to share a food memory from this summer. Let´s talk really good grub in a freakish environment. Let´s talk about La Mere on Merchant Street in Valletta, with it´s four small tables places almost in the middle of the street outside the restaurant. Let´s talk about smiling at each other and never wanna stop because the food is so delicious. Let´s talk about swinging taste buds! This is a cross food place where cinnamon mixes with garlic and cumin with the taste of white wine (!). Three different kitchen meet; Arabic, Mediterranian and Indian. The nice staff makes everything smooth while the sun abandons this side of earth and wraps us in the soft night of the Maltese Islands. Wandering home to our rented apartment just around the corner we are out of words. After 25 years of marriage there is nothing to say. Until Stefan can´t hold back any more and bursts out: Let´s go back tomorrow!
